With such a speculation, Kenya and Nairobi as the case study here is not left out and the way as to how inhabitants of Nairobi can try and help themselves from being loaded with yet, another heavier burden than what they are already carrying. The topic of paper has been chosen with influence of the fact that despite the availability of the media which has the main role of • Informing Educating • Entertaining Whether it can also be used to sensitize on poverty and whether it is possible to reduce it through the media- the Daily Nation and the Standard newspapers. Ways through which problems can be fought have been analyzed and the researcher hopes that the effort put in the production of this study will produce positive results. It is through the media which plays a significant role in influencing people’s attitudes, ideas and perception of various issues that can be solely relied upon to lead in overcoming poverty.
